That's not in the original constitution, that's an amendment..... that was my point. Before you go trying to personally insult me why don't you try comprehending what I'm typing. An amendment to the constitution is not in it's original body.
Where is the separation of church and state ammendment? I wasn't insulting you. It was an observation and personal opinion. The ammendment process was part of our founding fathers intentions so that laws could be made and ammended through a constitutional process. You used the argument for separation of church and state by citing that slavery wasn't addressed in the constitution. It was amended to address it. Where is the ammendment addressing the separation of church and state?
It's never been seen as a requirement due to the Supreme Court decision in Reynolds vs US (1879) which determined that the 1st Amendment basically covered it and if not that Article VI did as well. But what do I know right?

Where is the ammendment addressing the separation of church and state? It wasn't in the constitution, it was an idea posed by Jefferson (I think the original wording was slightly different) expressing the intent of the Establishment and Free Exercise clauses. And he never said it was "in the constitution", just that he agreed with the idea.
If your going to use a google search for your argument you should have done a little more research and used Everson vs Board of Education (1947) or Engel vs Vitale (1962) since the first case actually cited Jefferson's PERSONAL letters, which are the sole argument for separation of church and state , and the latter case actually takes the issue head on.

Religion should be left to the church and home.
I agree with your post until this statement. I have boys in my RAs and Sunday school class that never would have heard the word of God if left my religion at home and Church. Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV) 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” So, would you be ok with your kids' muslim principal leading a school-wide prayer to Allah over the intercom, for example? Let's be honest here....we, as Christians, are NOT proponents of "prayer in schools"....we're proponents of "Christian prayer in schools". Legally, though, that won't happen. Legally, it's an all-or-nothing deal. If you set a precedent allowing a school-sanctioned prayer to Jesus/God, then you're also setting a precedent allowing school-sanctioned prayers to Allah, Buddha, Krishna or even Satan himself. You ok with all of that? I'm not. Gomer, again, I agree with what you are saying, except I believe we dont need to keep our faith to ONLY the church and home. I believe 4:19 for that matter spells it out very clearly as a servant to God we should be going out to spread the Gospel. I cant fish for men if I am restricted to only my house and church.
Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Ok, I guess I should've rephrased it. I wasn't saying we should keep it to ourselves. I fully believe we should spread the word of God. I just dont think it's the public school's job to do so, for the reasons I initially mentioned.

I agree. Public schools have shredded history and are failing miserably at educating students on the basics. I certainly don't want them to attempt to teach my child something that is my job to teach. Not to mention the slippery slope of opening the door for all other religions to be taught (promoted), depending on who's in power at the time.

The separation of church and state does not exist in the constitution and is just a tool used by the atheistic humanist to promote their values in schools and government while suppressing opposing views. It's based on some letters that Jefferson wrote that they used as a jumping off point for removing the principles the country was founded upon. Ask Roy Moore how that argument turned out for him.
