I’d like to find a leather briefcase for work. I’d like the bag style (think Indiana Jones) like Filson carries, but don’t want to spend the kind of money they want. Anyone have any recommendations?

Try NutSac satchels or even check out Duluth.
Been here long enough to go from "bring 'da pain" to " bring 'da pain meds.

Orvis Bullhide is rugged. Crazy expensive new but I seem some at a good price on Craigslist and eBay.

Try going to Wilson's Leather over in Leeds at the Shops of Grand River. do that then go to their online store. They almost always have 40-60% off codes. Their bags are ok, I have two and use one every day for my computer and stuff and the other is carry on duffle style. Most of them will come with a canvas strap, I just ordered a leather one online. They will last a couple years with hard every day use. The Duluth bags are much more durable.
not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

My parents bought me a Kenneth Cole briefcase as you described as a high graduation gift in 1990. I carry it every day and I still get compliments on it. I love that thing. If you want a brief case to last, you need to pony up the $$. Ive had mine for $20 years and it is still going strong. I carry it all the time and just grow it in the back seat if I am driving. I’ve even put it in the bed of my truck when I have the bed cover on. My parents bought me a Kenneth Cole briefcase as you described as a high graduation gift in 1990. I carry it every day and I still get compliments on it. I love that thing.

Y’all some murse toting sons of guns I use mine for work but it also makes for a great bug out bag. Plenty of room for handguns, ammo and knives.

If you can find a vintage Hartmann, you may never wear it out.
Red Oxx makes the toughest nylon stuff I have ever seen, and it has a lifetime guarantee.
I have an old Hartmann, bought it in 1997. Still use it but it is starting to show its age. I'm thinking about getting a Filson to replace it.

Y’all some murse toting sons of guns It’s either that or a backpack to carry my iPad, my laptop, all my notebooks, graph paper pads, etc... I’ve done the backpack for a long time but need something with more protection.

Mine came from Rosonberger's (long ago closed) and is made by Schlesinger. I have to have something to carry files in, I don't carry it for fashion, only for function.

For work, it's hard to organize computers, extra monitors, mouse, power supplies, notebooks, etc without a bag of some sort. For travel purposes, it's hard to organize a sidearm, holster, light, magazines, extra ammo, basic first aid kit/supplies, extra pocket knife, space blanket, leatherman, batteries, etc without a murse bag. Mine is about 10 x 12 x 6" thick, coyote tan Cordura, and weighs about 9 lbs. Has this label on it -
