Which one and why? Thinking of picking up one or the other this year.

Are you talking about the small green one the hs has with the folding legs?

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Yes.

Can you hide better with one than the other?

3 toe the only time I use one is when I'm hunting around a pasture or in a hedgerow where there might not be a tree available. I've never thought any type of chair could get you back up against a tree good enough to keep you from getting profiled if a turkey flanks you.
I'm not gonna tote it around in the mountains either.
I have a friend that usues one exclusiveley and carries it all the time. He says a turkey never has busted him sitting in it but he can pull off alot of things that normal turkey hunters can't get away with for some reason.
I use the lounger for deer hunting alot more than turkey hunting. It's as comfortable as anything you'll ever sit in and it's an invaluable tool if you're gonna spend a long time in one spot. The comfort doesn't outweigh the hassle of toting it around for a run-n-gun turkey hunt though.

I will have to agree with that. I have 3 different seats and the gobbler lounger is by far the best.

I"ve been shooting out of my Gobbler lounger while patterning this week and I love it! I did cut the factory strap off and replace it with a heavier strap with a shoulder pad but will still only use it on select occasions!

I would rather sit on the ground as the hs seat. I have two, I haven't used either in years.

Brent nailed it. If you sitting in one place for long periods then its the best thing

I saw in academy's flier they have a seat that looks just like the gobbler lounge.
I haven't caught them with any in stock yet to see if they are the same.

I use them a bunch for mid day boring sits or in the evening. It really helps being still if you are comfortable. I can handle the chair for about 4 hours

This is why I am looking at getting one also.

If you want one of the hs seats you can have one of mine if I can find it.

I will be down your way in a few weeks. But I don't think you would use it over the gobbler lounge for what we mentioned.

I actually used the hs seat all the time when I used it. Its easier to carry but not that comfortable to me.

Still results in that stiff lower back feeling and butt dancing when you been sitting for awhile. Lol

Thats the feedback I was looking for. If it isn't comfortable then it isn't worth having. Looks like I'll go with the lounger if I can find one in stock. I checked Academy online but didn't see the one you talked about.

I looked also and didn't see it.

I still have the flier and will look and see if there is a stock number and take a pic of it.

It also had a 10 dollar off coupon for a purchase over 50$.
Of corse I had to get it the day after I bought my son a gun.

I use the little HS seat with my 3" cushion on an EliteIII. It helps keep my butt from going numb. That and the 2 1/2 lb. weight is why I use it. I would like to get a gobbler lounger if I knew I was going to sit for a spell in a certain location. I wouldn't want to tote 6.5 lbs. runnin and gunnin. Its hard enuff on my fat arse runnin them ridges and hollars with just my vest and necessary items.

I'd have a hard time hunting without my old nwtf seat. It has a welded aluminum frame and weighs almost nothing. Add an air cushion and I can sit about as long on it as I can anything. And the front legs are longer than the back, so my gun is always up. If the ground isn't level, I can turn the seat around and make a level seat.

Its at least 20 yrs old; anybody know where to buy another one?

I have never seen the HS seat, but I do have a gobbler lounger. The GL is a good seat for long periods of sitting. I am a bigger boy so it is hard to sit comfortably in it with my vest on for extended periods (so I have to take vest off). I have trouble getting out of it quickly due to my longer legs and it being so low; so sometimes I just roll out of it. No complaints on the chair height, it will hide you well. The strap not that great, I need to put a different one on mine.

Talk to your doctor and see if you qualify for a help chair. You could get one customized in camo. laugh

Ned I got the same seat. I added a cushion to it that made it better. That said I bought a gobbler lounger and the HS seat hasn't been out of my truck since. Its worth the trouble to carry it. You never know when a set ups gonna last a couple of hours and the comfort of the lounger is worth the trouble of toteing it.
