Got a cousin whose husband was a pilot on a gun helicopter. They'd put a 50 cal round in the boat moter in a minute. Those snipers are the real deal. If I remember correctly, I read a while back where a USCG helo sniper beat out snipers from all other branches in a sniper competition I don’t doubt that at all. To hit a target from a rotary wing aircraft or a moving vessel is no easy task

It seems to me like the old boy put himself in a bad position. I didn’t see a long gun, and his side arm is holstered. If the folks in that sub had opened that hatch with a gun in their hand that would have been all she wrote.
Granted the others would have taken the sub out, but that really wouldni‘t have done him much good. That’s why they instill Selfless Service into you as a cornerstone of your military career. To execute the mission properly it requires it. That’s why all branches are heroes and that’s also the biggest difference that civilians will never understand. Once we signed that dotted line it was always payable up to our lives, no doubt about it.

The first thing the bad guys should have seen when they opened that hatch was a muzzle pointed their way.
