last Monday, I cruised thru one of the thrift places i usually check for vintage cast iron, and ran across this old guy on the cheap ... i usually don't mess around with super rusty skillets like this -- mostly because, you never really know what's underneath all of that & often times, you'll find cracks in them ... but, i was feeling up for the challenge on this one -- i liked that it sat flat as a pancake & had the heat ring on the outer rim of the bottom of the pan ... so, i rigged up my electrolysis tank, topped off the water, and let it ride overnight ... i was surprised, relieved, and super happy that it turned out to be a serviceable pan - and i had to try it out this wkend with bacon & eggs for me & my girls ... even though there is a significant amount of pitting, the inside cooking surface is smooth -- cooks like a champ! sounds good - just hit me up via PM & i'll be happy to help you out ... BTW, i ran this oldie past a guy that's fairly knowledgeable about cast iron - he's saying this pan is from approx the 1920's & believes it to be an unmarked Wagner (made in Ohio) ...
