haleyville al,
So my wife wants some pumpkins. I had read that I needed to plant them early August to have them for Halloween. That seems kind of late after I thought about it. Any idea when to plant?

I don’t think it’s too late. I have some plants in cups that are going in ground this week, along with some squash. Wrap the base of the vine with foil strips to keep the vine boring bastages out.

Never heard of doing that grundan! Thanks for the tip.

Be kind to one another and tell the ones you love that you love them often. We never know what tomorrow will bring.

I planted two weeks ago and theyre just getting their third leaf on them. They are slow getting started but when they get pumpkins on them they mive on pretty quick. I planted about 100hills of big max this year. Ive got the best stand ive had in years but if it dont rain soon theyll go to crap. You might be a bit late, like plowboy said, theyre gona take 90days. If you planted plants instead of seeds you would knock two weeks off that.

I watched some videos from Old Alabama Gardner, he does it on his squash plants before he puts them in ground. I’m gonna try it, borers demolished ours.
