without having to go and research, what is so bad about them? I need a cheap cell camera to put in IL so i dont have to drive to check the card. Here is my assessment. I purchased two spypoint link a cameras last year. Had nothing but problems out of them for 6 months. Hated them. From January til now, they’ve functioned perfectly with the new software update. With lithium batteries, we get about 3 months of battery life on fields or feeders taking a lot of pictures. So, with that knowledge, I purchased a link micro about a month ago. Realizing that I may have to return it. It’s taken probably 4K pictures, has 100% battery left at this point, and I can’t tell any difference between it and the more expensive link w. So, I’ll probably buy a couple more with this sale going on. I would just make sure to purchase from a box store so you can return it in case something happens.

Todd, the data plan on all link cameras give you 100 transfers free a month. Then every picture after that will be just like a normal trail camera. Spy point's cameras always get a knock on battery life because they don't use as many batteries as other brands typically do. I am not affiliated with Spy Point, but just like what I get for the money. My biggest advice is for the link evos to run the software update when you buy it. Some are not up to date when you buy them. I would assume all of the micro cameras should be since they are still new.
You can take a man's life, but you can't take his freedom.

We run about ten Link-Evo cameras on our farm in Kentucky and we just put out last week the new micro to see how well it would do for the money. Early or late low light time of the day the picture is not great, but you tell if a deer is worth killing. Lithium batteries are the only kind we run and the battery life seems to be very good as long as you are not transmitting every detection. The most important thing I would say when buying a cell camera is go ahead and get the long range antenna even if you have okay service where you plan to put them. I would give the Link-Evo a 8/10 and the micro a 7/10. Also download the firmware on the SD card it will eliminate a lot of your problems with transmitting. Yes they will work if you don't but ours quite after a month of having them in the field. After with downloaded the firmware on all of our SD cards we have zero problems.

Saw on the flyer where they will have these for $119 starting on the 17th. If you trade in a old camera it will be $99. I'm on the fence between the Spy point micro for the price after reading some bad reviews on Academy website that are very recent. Bad pictures and poor battery life. One guy says he put out and took one picture before it stopped working. Some other reviews were good so I don't know whether to chance it. For $119 I may spend another $90 and get the Cuddeback instead. I've had good experience with Cuddeback. I'm doing more research as the price is good for the Spypoint .
