I actually enjoyed summer in Iraq better than Alabama. I've been all over the globe and I can tell you (as far as heat is concerned) that Alabama is the 3rd worst hellhole on the planet. Surpassed only by Texas and Louisiana.

Alexandria, Louisiana, to be more precise. One of the hottest places I've ever been in my life.

Port Arthur, TX... Ranks number one in my opinion. The absolute most miserable place I've ever been.

That's a miserable place anyway, isn't it?

ANAD is Hellhole hot in the summer. All that concrete and warehouse type buildings hold heat like a bed of coals. I don't miss working down there.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I pulled up to an address at precisely 4:07, looked out the truck window at the NIU on the west end of the residence (in full sun) and said f*@%k that!

Port Arthur is pretty much an artist rendering of hell on earth. Nothing but ship yards and oil refineries everywhere. Flat, wet, marshland, no trees. It looks like a post apocalyptic wasteland. But when you add the intolerable summer heat and humidity then you have the most miserable place on the planet.
