I don't think it's uncommon for the same bones to break during a hanging, especially in older folks. I won't go so far as to say that someone walked in and murdered the guy, but I think, at the very least, he was allowed to off himself, by folks that wanted to make sure he wasn't around to talk.
There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:

No doubt. But it also states it's more common in strangulation murders

It will be pretty easy to determine whether he was strangled or hung by the bruises and injury reconstruction. Don't let your conspiracy theories get too far ahead of common sense.
Now if someone did the hanging for him and somehow he left no defensive wounds, that will have unanswered questions.

hadn't he already attempted to commit suicide and they stopped him, hence putting him on suicide watch? If there is a "conspiracy" here, and this wouldn't shock me in the least, it was that someone made sure he had the opportunity to try again and to be successful.

Hung himself with bedsheet from top bunk, this guy was like 6’2” or so, he could strangle himself but I don’t believe he could get that straight axial and forced flexion to break cervical vertebrae. Now news coming out that the guards assigned to his area or whatever were asleep for 3 hours.
No matter how you slice it he was a dead man the minute the cops arrested him. Either by his own hand or someone else. The dirt he had on major players both domestic and international will go to the grave with him. Next up let’s see if this “facilitator” woman that’s connected ends up drowning or dying in a car wreck.
