The outer bands are getting torn apart on the west side of the peninsula and north of the storm on the Atlantic side. I figure by in the morning it'll be headed NNE. I can't imagine how long the night will seem in the Bahamas. It should suck up all the surface hot water and then start pulling cooler water up towards the surface. The last radar shots I saw look like it is slowly weakening.

I just read something about that from a meteorologist. He said normally, that would be the case. But, the area where Dorian is just sitting is actually very shallow water, so there's not cooler water from down deep to draw up into the thing and weaken her. It's simply weakening from not being completely over water. "You think I care? Roll Damn Tide" Have you tried Google?
