If it lightnings close by and lights dim, mine will do it, or if power flickers just right. It's never done it if I completely lose power.

Like folks have already said, breakers don’t usually trip for no reason. I see it all the time especially old breakers most of the time its because they've oxidized on the distribution bus bar causing more resistance and higher amp draw. sometimes they just age and get sensitive. always put ox-guard on the breaker terminal before clipping in.

It's already dropped to 75 in here. I'm going to keep an eye on it.

First things first, cut it off. Then go outside, open it up, and check and see if its froze over. If it is, then run the water hose over it till the ice is gone and start her back up. Then call the man... This was my problem , I just had the exact same experience and when I walked out to check, it was frozen solid. Dog left the door open for a couple hours while we were gone would be the cause of ours. My main floor unit will trip the breaker occasionally I guess just hanging up when kicking on. Flip it back on and maybe no problem for a month or a year. I know I’m about to have to replace it and probably the upstairs unit but they are 26 years old so I can’t complain

Some time in the night the breaker tripped again. Woke up at 8:00 and it was already 77 degrees in here. Based on y'all's recommendations I called Air of Excellence. Turns out the breaker and the capacitor, which is under warranty, were both questionable, so the tech is replacing both. Considering it was an after hours, Sunday morning and I woke the tech up, the fee for the service call wasn't too bad. THANKS GUYS!
