May be a dumb question but have you ohm’d the wires from the switch to the motor to make sure you haven’t got a broken wire between the motor and the switch? No, I haven't tried anything like that. There is no slack at all in the wiring at the control panel and I will have to take the switch loose from it before running any sort of test like that. I only yesterday got the prime start to actually work for the first time, and I haven't had time to check further. I did take the panel loose and shine a light into it, and it appears that the wires are all connected. I guess there could be a short in the wire, but I think a bad switch is more likely. Edit: I pulled the panel off and there is no way to get to the wires to test it without taking the switch out. I want to fish some this week, and I can use it as is. In fact, it cranked ok this morning without even using the prime start. That's the first time it has done that.
