Does anybody have any stories about the SOA hunts? I don't know anybody who's been on one of them, never even heard any reports. Any of y'all been and killed?

Does anybody have any stories about the SOA hunts? I don't know anybody who's been on one of them, never even heard any reports. Any of y'all been and killed? I have a friend who was a first time hunter last season and put in for the hunts not even knowing what they were. He went (I don't know where) and saw tons of deer and killed his first, a doe, on it. No idea if it was the first shot presented to him, if he just wanted to kill his first, or if he didn't see bucks.

Got selected as an Alternate for Portland landing gun deer hunt for Jan. 23. Most likely I will not get the opportunity there this season since someone has to decline there hunter status for myself to move to hunter status.
