There should never be a system where some people have tried for 10 years to get drawn and people who have no time invested have a chance to draw before them. This, times infinity. The entire purpose of a preference points system in a draw is the tier with the most points gets, y'know, preference.

I get it that you are pissed off about the preference points, however, in your above assumption you can make the gator numbers what ever you want. Change to 1500 and 4000 and your %'s of getting picked go up and down to 2.3 and 5.5. so what's your solution?
Just quoting the numbers of applicants I was told... But to answer your question, here is my solution. Do it like every other state. If there are 260 tags, the tier with the most points get tags. The tier with the 2nd most points get what’s left over. The tier with the 3rd most points get any that are left over from the first two, and so on. There should never be a system where some people have tried for 10 years to get drawn and people who have no time invested have a chance to draw before them. Now you know if they did it this way then Chucky couldn't give hunts to his buddies. Ok, going be that guy, what if 500 are in the 1st tier and they only have 260 tags, someone once again is going to be left out, then next year it goes to 1000, etc. as I see it there is always someone not getting a tag who thinks they are entitled to one.

My cousin who's daughters I took on the Stimpson youth hunt last year got drawn for the 12/21 Stimpson youth hunt this year so I'll be down there for that one as well as my Stimpson 01/30 hunt. Will also be on my buddy's Uchee creek hunt on 10/24. I will be on the 12/21 hunt

If you haven’t already looking into it, the Best Western in Jackson is probably one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in and the owner let us check out way late so we could hunt and not have to worry about getting back quick.

I did not get drawn again and expected nothing less.
I’m showing 1 preference point. Does anyone know how they are accumulated? I’ve been putting in for these hunts from day one and I should have more than 1 freaking preference point for the deer hunts.

I put in for cedar creek and Portland every year. Dates very due to my work schedule. There is no need in applying for hunts I can’t make due to work obligations.

So, I asked this question on another thread but no response. If you put in for different dates does that change you preference points? I have put in for Portland and Cedar Creek for primitive weapons and that last hunt every time. I have accrued points for those. If I put in for a different hunt, even on the same SOA, my points should increase, should they? I see it like every hunt is a separate lottery. If you apply for different dates it would not accrue points, on previous hunts applied for, correct?? Now, I don't know how it works but that is the way I would think.

I personally think if you put in for the same SOA regardless of dates you should accumulate points for that SOA if not drawn. I looked back at last years dates and they are the same hunts. I feel pretty certain I’m getting the shaft on my points. I should have 2 based on my history of applying.

I am showing 2 preference points for the Upper State hunt and this is the 1st year I ever registered to hunt that area. I am still showing 1 preference point for Portland landing and Cedar Creek area even though this was the 2nd year I registered for those hunts. Nd

It looks like the preference point doesn't mean sh#t. You could have 30 with the way they're doing it and still not get drawn

I put in for every single open registration, youth included. I think I had almost 50 hunt registrations when it was all said and done and got drawn as hunter for one and alternate for another and chose the guaranteed hunt. Basically the same thing I did. Why not apply for every one? Better to get it and decline in my book.
