I only know that most of Americas hero's end up belittled. Columbus was not American and his hero status as I stated in my first post was basically created out of thin air by a horrendously flawed book written by Washington Irvin in 1828. So there was never any greatness to tear down. Not to single him out however. We teach a lot of bull $%*t in history classrooms.
