On the way back right now, buddy driving. Shot him Wednesday morning, took us 45 minutes to get to him, tied his legs to trees, cleaned him on a 53* slope, and a little after midnight we had him to camp 2.8 miles away after two trips (4 of us packing). We then spent the next 2 days packing him the 5.6 miles and 1800+ vertical feet to the truck in two trips, with the last day being in near blizzard conditions. Hiked over 55 miles in 8 days with packs on, gaining and losing thousands upon thousands of feet of elevation. The first night in camp temps were well below zero and hit single digits the rest of the nights. Drilled him with 4 160 grain Nosler Accubonds at 423 yards from my Cooper 280 with a SWFA 3-9x42 on a KDC bipod. First branch antlered bull I had ever seen, and I had never seen any elk in my life until a few cows and a couple spikes in the previous 20 minutes before he came out bugling at some of the cows. DIY public land Colorado in a zero point draw unit for first rifle season. I’m tickled to death! And I’m gonna have a big taxidermy bill! PS - deadfall sucks!!!

WOW! Awesome bull, well done!
Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.
Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.
Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?
