if buying a new truck now I would get a Ford. but I wouldn't touch one of those Ecoboost motors with a 10 foot pole. 5.4 for me.

Those eco boosts are the only ford motor I will touch. The power and acceleration and towing capabilities blow the v8 away and I have had both the 5.4 and the 3.5 and looking at possibly getting a 2.7 as well. The 3.5 is a beast

GM will not be satisfied until they move 100% of their production south of the border. Move it all to Mexico pay them $2 an hour and sell the vehicles for the same price here.

I know too many that have had issues with the turbos. some have had the turbos go and really mess things up internally. if guys are having problems prior to 70k I don't want a part of that. that is why I never got a gm with AFM. too many issues with lifters.

I'm not that concerned with performance. I can do anything I want with that 5.4. the real problem is the 150's limitations vs a 3/4 ton. that is why I would just get a used Chevy/gm 2500 with a 6.0 before buying anything new.

Did it go out? When did it have to be replaced?

Yeah they told me the same thing on my 2002 Silverado. Damn thing shifted like crap and front axle seal leaked. They replaced it 4 times. Evidently in nearly 20 years they still haven't figured out how to make a decent tranny. F them.

I wont buy a GM vehicle, cause the last one I owned had so many problems. Seems like they can't ever get things working right. Vehicles cost a lot of money and if you pay a lot of money the machine better work right.

No, I wasn't going to accept a new truck that made horrible transmission noises at 3 days old. As I said, I called Chevrolet and was told to sue if I wanted anything done. So, I called the dealership every day explaining that this wasn't going to stand. After getting no help, I went to the dealership on a busy Saturday and quietly told them I wasn't going to accept the truck and would stay there as long as I had to and be as loud as I had to until they did the right thing. They finally realized I was not going away and offered to swap the transmission with another new truck on their lot. I drove that truck and all seemed well so I agreed to this. They swapped the transmissions and I took the truck. It was a good vehicle after that and in fact was one of the best I have ever owned. But being treated that way by Chevrolet ended my GM ownership days after that truck.

It is the transmission fluid. I had a "shudder" and they replaced the fluid, and the problem was solved. It is frustrating though.
