No, this is not a muslim country....but Islam is growing in the US, especially in certain areas. Have you seen what's going on in Europe? If you don't think it could happen here, you're naive. I prefer to decide who my children pray to, not their principals/school admins.

Unpopular opinion: a good number of you don't understand what an unpopular opinion is.

I do not want schools officials deciding religion for my kids. That is mine and the kids decision. It's hard to see why people that call themselves conservatives would willingly give up their rights to raise kids the way they see fit, and give that power over to the state. That is exactly what you are doing when you say we need prayer in school.

I have actually had people tell me I'm not a "real Christian" for saying what I said above. It's like they read/hear the first sentence and then completely tune out the explanation that follows. Oh well...

Young children killing a deer is not "what it's all about". Until your kid can go to the woods him/herself, totally from scratch, find the deer, climb a tree in the right place, and THEN kill that deer with/by their OWN woodsmanship and knowledge of the game, then all they've done is shoot a gun. Larry right now in Alabama, public school systems are having muslim appreciation day. I won’t say where but it’s happening and I wouldn’t be surprised if the parents of these schools aren’t aware of it. I have yet to see a Christian appreciation day. I agree with Gomer on this.

you are contradicting yourself in this post........you're saying we shouldn't "allow this chit to creep in", yet you're advocating for setting a legal precedent that would conceivably allow school-sanctioned muslim prayer (or other religion)...in other words "allowing this chit to creep in" (in your own words). If you think we will ever pass any sort of law/legislation that says "school-sanctioned Christian prayer is OK, but prayers of other religions is not", then, again, you're naive (and/or ignorant to the 1st Amendment of the Constitution of the United States)

Perhaps the founders of our country knew exactly what they were doing when they made certain that the government would not legislate one religion over the others, and instead allow folks to make that decision for themselves? NOT establishing a national religion may ultimately be exactly what ends up saving Christianity in the USA in the long run.

So, if I'm to understand this post, you're suggesting that if a person has:

A) ever gotten a truck stuck, or
B) never served in the US Military

then that person doesn't have the right to a political opinion? I would say that certainly qualifies as an "unpopular opinion".

If you're serious about #2, I'm curious to hear why? I hear this a lot, but nobody can every explain why they think that. I've come to the conclusion most just think it's the clever/cool thing to say without really putting much thought into it.
