Deer hunting has become just sitting in a shooting house and blasting the first thing that pokes it's nose out of the bushes because people don't know the first thing about actually hunting due to the fact that they never hunted in the first place starting with their own Daddy who put them in a shooting house first..... without ever teaching them anything.... such as woodmanship and skills that have historically been lessons learned while small game hunting..... which as become nearly non-existent in 2019.

It is no wonder people can't get excited about hunting, many young hunters lose interest and later in life nearly everyone has no patience or will to wait on anything.

My other unpopular opinion is that people wound deer all the day every day during deer season with under powered small caliber rifles and magical non-expanding bonded bullets. Completely unnecessary. You are a grown arse man get something bigger than a .243

Tacomas are way over-rated and completely useless as a “real” truck.

They are over-priced, small, mpg sucks and they won’t pull a greased needle out of perch’s rear end.

Unpopular opinion: Only about 15 to 20% of Aldeer members hunt, fish, or leave their couch any given season, but most have opinions on everything including animals they don't hunt or gear they don't own.

Gotta get me one of those $400 coolers like all the pro hunters have. If I do I will be cool like them. I mean how ya gonna cool off the meat from your high fence buck without one?

This has always been fascinating to me. At least half the members I've met in person no longer hunt.

6.5 creedmore is overrated, and I’m really disturbed at what hunting has turned into.

No one was forced to pray when I was in class. This is another reason this Country is sinking. IN GOD WE TRUST MORONS!

you are contradicting yourself in this post........you're saying we shouldn't "allow this chit to creep in", yet you're advocating for setting a legal precedent that would conceivably allow school-sanctioned muslim prayer (or other religion)...in other words "allowing this chit to creep in" (in your own words). If you think we will ever pass any sort of law/legislation that says "school-sanctioned Christian prayer is OK, but prayers of other religions is not", then, again, you're naive (and/or ignorant to the 1st Amendment of the Constitution of the United States)

Perhaps the founders of our country knew exactly what they were doing when they made certain that the government would not legislate one religion over the others, and instead allow folks to make that decision for themselves? NOT establishing a national religion may ultimately be exactly what ends up saving Christianity in the USA in the long run.

The lower a person's IQ, the more likely they are to be highly authoritarian. There's actually a name for this in political science, but it escapes me right now (it's a term to describe the sociological demographic of this voter)...Trump absolutely zeroed in on this like nobody else ever has. In the South particularly, it comes out as "pro" moralistic Christianity and uber extreme patriotism.

I've long wondered about the following....

Liberal: An authoritarian rule to forcibly require you to accept/approve every immoral human behavior. The government FORCING all citizenry to think, act, and speak the same way. This is DANGEROUS, because a government that can give you want you want, can also give you what you don't want.

Conservative: An authoritarian rule to forcibly require you to accept/approve only moral human behavior. The government FORCING all citizenry to think, act, and speak the same way. This is DANGEROUS, because a government that can give you want you want, can also give you what you don't want.

Libertarian: You do whatever the hell you want to on your own private land and in your own private time. The government is almost non-existent in the lives of private citizenry. Complete, unfettered LIBERTY, which was the ONLY purpose of our Constitution!!!!!!!!!!

For the life of me I cannot understand why everybody isn't Libertarian. Both Republicans and Democrats have totally raped the Constitution, they are both equally deviant and tyrannical. What pisses me off is how the conservatives, and in particular the Southern conservatives (this is the low IQ voter mentioned above) ferociously attacks the Libertarian candidates. Rand Paul can debate circles around every candidate on the stage, but the Southern ectomorphs with their feed store hats throw tomatos at him.

And NO, Perch, I'm not liberal. FAAAARRRR from it! I guarantee you I'm more socially conservative than you are, but I understand the idiocy of authoritarian government. It's literally what the founders of America escaped from.

Libertarian doesn’t work because people’s private libertarian rights can infringe on someone else’s private libertarian rights. Then what?

One person's "rights" end where they begin to infringe upon another's. It's pretty simple.

I’ve formed a new unpopular opinion after reading this thread..... you all need to get out more and quit expecting the world to fit in the little box you’re comfortable with. This thread has basically turned into “what everyone else does wrong”. C’mon gents, there’s some great people in this world. With these attitudes you all are becoming the people you complain about.

Christmas is way over rated. The songs are terrible. Gift giving is a PITA, especially when 3/4's of them get either returned or thrown into the closet never to be seen again. And there are a lot of family members that I would not miss if I never saw them again.

Those that think Christmas is "overrated" are probably celebrating the wrong things.

I would suggest, however, that families consider forgoing the gift exchanging (except maybe for immediate/close family). We used to draw names and do an exchange for extended family and inevitably nobody got anything they wanted/needed/could use because people were buying gifts for folks they only saw once or twice/year and didn't really know. We made the decision a few years ago that we would only buy gifts for the kids, and then pool the money we would've otherwise spent on useless gifts for one another and, instead, donate it to St Jude. Everyone is happier, less stressed, and the money actually goes toward a worthy cause.
