As far as open or concealed I'm probably 50/50 depending on the situation. But if someone is open carrying its the bad guys decision to make a stupid decision or not. And the bad guy puts down the person that he knows has a gun first My wife, the twins and I were in a place of business last year when two guys came in, stopped just inside the door surveying everyone then one stays in the front while the other walks to the back of the store. I noticed he had a handgun and likely had bad intentions. I told my wife to get the boys behind some shelves close to us and stay there. I took a few steps just to get closer to the guy in the back of the store and get his attention, when he looked my way I nodded and smiled my biggest smile. He stood there a second obviously trying to figure out my intentions then walked up to the front and shook his head no to his buddy and they walked out. A visible weapon in that situation could have started a fire fight with a store full of innocent people. The unknowns were what he lost his nerve over and no one got hurt.

I see it both ways. Bad guy a&b see one or two open carriers they take them down first, bad guy a&b see 58 open carriers they'll pass that one off. I'm not sure how to express how collective "we" have to embrace the younger generation who open carry and think they have it all figured out. If asked I patiently explain that life ain't fair and shot placement is the key to success oh and never stop learning. Not a guru or sage but if just one goober millennial learns something I'm happy.

I agree i wouldn't open carry alone for stated reasons but if everyone else would I'd take my chances..in that restraunt scenario u don't think a bad guy would try anything

Bad guy puts down the person he knows has gun first? Well can't say i totally agree, cause Just look at where ALL mass shootings mostly have occurred, those cowards usually attack the places that they're least likely to encounter any resistance, and THEY USUALLY end up blowing their brains out when they do meet any resistance.......
