I have known people who talked about having febrile seizures as kids but all of them outgrew it after the first five or six years.
I worked as a vet tech and saw dogs and cats having various types of seizures and took it all in stride. But, seeing another person have one freaked me right out. I would like to think that if I saw someone else have one now that I would be calmer about it, but I am not entirely sure that would be the case.

You wouldn't! I have watched my wife have 3 and it still scares the absolute crap out of me every time. She's medicated for them and she's a BA/tough girl but it completely breaks my heart having to watching someone you love go through that. The confused stat after the seizure always bothers me; on all instances for about half a day my wife had no idea who I was nor her kids, it's scary, odd, and sometimes funny. As much as she means to me, I am not entirely sure I couldn't handle a kid having one; that thought alone is terrifying. My thoughts and prayers for anyone who has experience that situation

my daughter had one last winter at the age of 1. she was inconsolable and we were taking her to the hospital due to temp that would not drop, i was carrying her to the car and she went limp and started shaking. My wife drove and i held her all the way. I wish that experience on no one, as i was scared she was dying in my arms. I had grabbed a cool rag to hold on her before we left the house and stripped her off in the car and she started to come out of it by the time we got to the hospital.
It is what it is.
