My first job when I was 16 was digging water lines and sewer lines in the hot Florida sun. The boss would stay in town while we drove to a subdivision named, Blue Pine Village, 20 minutes away in a neighboring town. The 2 guys in charge were mid-thirties potheads. 3 hour lunch breaks at the beach, downing 6 packs of beer at the beach were the norm. The other 2 guys kept a pair of binos in the truck to scope out women in bikinis. The other 2 guys would occasionally burn one on the way home in the truck.

Several years ago the company I worked for had a contract with one of the state departments that was straight T&M. It took almost 4-days to do a 4-hour job. We weren’t allowed in the area unless we were escorted and our escort wasn’t the most focused person in the world. When they received the invoice they asked why so much, when we had given them the original estimate on labor. After explaining the terms of the contract, the manager said that he understood and would speak with the person. The next time we were onsite, the guy was Johnny on the spot in escorting us onto the floor.

More ways than I can remember. The most memorable was when I was 18 or 19 working for dad, we worked for an old folks home and the desk girl was a 10... I mean, she was smoking. She was mid 20s, wore jeans that were tight as skin on a weiney and she had a thing for me. She would call in a "service call" but the only thing getting serviced was each other. Those were some good times

Well the last two days I've been waiting on the customer to decide where they want SQL installed. At 3:54 they said "put it on this server, see you tomorrow". Guess I will do it tomorrow, maybe. Customer says, "Can you just put it on that server with 2gb ram running Server 2003 that is also our ERP server, file server, print server and domain controller? The local admin username and password are on the sticky note next to the keyboard. We might as well remove the sticky note since all employees are domain admins..." Yeah, do it tomorrow. Jeremy

What is this killing time you speak of? I'm a contractor with bills to pay. All my pay is production based. If I ain't working I ain't making money so I might as well be at home.
What you do today, you have to sleep with tonight.
