Also, back to the original point...........I would think turkey hunters, as a whole, would be better at "...using concealment to hide and get close" than bowhunters, but that's neither here nor there.

The enemies are within not from without, at least not the main and worst enemies. I was thinking exactly the same thing. We've already been invaded, we are currently under attack, and we should be at war right now!
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

In China, they just shut off the internet and phone lines, jam radio transmissions, then roll in with tanks and shut down entire neighborhoods of 200,000 people. Then they kill about 20% and that usually is enough to make folks get back in line.

Cheesy social media click-bait.....an increasingly large portion of the "hunters army" doesn't know how to "hunt" beyond sitting in an office chair in a shooting house staring at a food plot or pile of corn............and a good many of them struggle to make an accurate shot on a deer standing broadside 100yds away.....and the deer ain't shooting back at them.

I always see posts like this on Facebook and always kind of chuckle thinking about some of the hunters I know. Here is the post (it had a picture of a bunch trucks with dog boxes): "If we woke up tomorrow morning and a foreign power had invaded our shores the US citizen has more options than the citizens of any other country on this planet. Just a friendly reminder of those that would try to do harm to the USA. You will have to fight these folks also. I see a fleet of off road vehicles equipped with communications gear and experienced "trigger pullers" to operate them. Our still hunting brothers make up the largest standing private infantry unit in the world. Our bow hunters are some of the best at using concealment to hide and get close. The HOUNDSMEN are literally the Cavalry. They know how to coordinate a hunt over large distances and are quite skilled at hitting moving targets." I'm not doubting that a huge chunk of outdoorsmen are also patriots to the core and would love nothing more than to defend our country (a lot of you already have done that) but these posts always seem a little silly. "OUR BOW HUNTERS ARE SOME OF THE BEST AT CONCEALMENT"...they aren't navy seals, shoot... join a FB hunting group and read what some of them say and you might join the other side of the fight How do you think the "HUNTERS ARMY" would do against invaders? I'm not saying a SELECT GROUP but everyone together.

For 256 1/2 to shoot anyone they'd need to get near his shooting house. He don't go on the woods! He and Burbank are platoon leaders in the aldeer wuss brigade, you couldn't expect them to be much good in a fight. They're in charge of safe spaces.

The Afghanistan tribesmen ran the British out in the 1800's. They ran the mighty Soviet war machine out in the 1900's. They damn near ran the most powerful and technologically advanced military in the world out in the 2000's.
I would imagine U.S. hunters and outdoorsmen and women would be at least as capable as any of those folks. Not to mention the hardware that is readily available/often quite affordable in the 21st century. Barrett .50BMGs, AR15s, suppressors, nightvison etc etc For $1,000 one can purchase a good AR15, 1,000rds of ammo and 10 magazines.
