Headed down to hunt on Jan 2 for a few days. About 5 miles west of Eufaula. Just wondering what the rut is looking like this year down that way.

I’m just west of you in Texasville/Clayton and the bucks are still nocturnal but getting closer to daylight. It’s getting close, but no chasing yet . New scrapes & rubs are opening up everyday. Good luck

Our property is about 10 miles north of eufuala. Its fixing to get real good. I shot a nice 9 Fri evening that came out chasing a doe hard. Right before I shot him,he let out the loudest grunt I've ever heard; it was a bellow. Good luck. Rut timing in Barbour county varies greatly across the different areas. Close to the river, theyll be wide open at the beginning of dec. South west Barbour isn't until late Jan. Good luck!!

Most importantly,the food options in Eufaula: Sam's kitchen(eufaula airport) has a really good lunch buffet;they're closed on Saturdays. Michelles across the bridge on the GA side on the left has a seafood buffet on sat nights. Cajun corner is decent ,but a little pricey. Theres a good Mexican restaurant on main street in Eufuala. I'll be up there 1st-5th.

I hunt between Eufaula and Clayton and our best action gets going around the 10th.

I hunt 8 miles west of eufaula on hwy 82. Bucks scraping good now and we’re seeing more daylight activity. Our good rut seems to be Jan 3-13th ish.
