Atoler 14 point A Joined: Feb 2013 Posts: 8,506	I’m hanging in my saddle with my wife next to me in a ladder stand. We got pegged by a good buck last week in this spot while sitting on the ground. So, as stealthily as possible (not very) I lugged a ladderstand in here a 1/4 mile and put it up. Jumped 7 deer on the way in and made all kinds of racket. Who knows though, sometimes a screw job like this is when you get lucky.

They came trotting around a point to our right and got on us in a hurry. Not much shot opportunities in this cedar thicket, the biggest of the bucks was about 10 seconds from getting it but Drake couldn't quite get turned to get him. He is mad and heart broke all at the same time. Mad cause I wouldn't let him shoot the huge 4 point and heartbroken because he couldn't get on either one of the 8s before they trotted on We are not perfect, only forgiven!!!

Had 16 deer in the field at one point and the only one with any visible antler ever was a little ol spike. Thought for sure a buck would at least come and check things out, but they just don't seem to be moving much in daylight hours here yet.
