I have to put my Lab up when I hunt near the house. It's a game to her, and she's definitely the reigning champion.

All I wear is muck or rubber knee boots while hunting. I’ve seen deer cross my path in a field with short grass and never smell me.

The problem with many of the high top rubber boots is they let out a lot of foot odor from around the top cause they don't fit as tightly to the leg as pac boots or other shorter boots. I use the rubber pac type boots with rubber on the bottom area and nylon type stuff and leather for the upper. Keep them in a plastic bin and don't put them on until I get in the woods. They have never been worn on concrete or in a vehicle. Have had deer walk right over my trail no problem.

I have 2 pair of rubber boots. My serious hunting boots and my knock around boots. Went to a plotthe other day at lunch and checked a camera wearing my knock around boots. Decided to sit till dark so I walked to shooting house. About 2 hours late a pile of does came into the field and every one of them freaked out when they got to where I walked the middle of the field. Those particular boots are worn everywhere. My other boots are only worn outside of my truck while hunting. I don’t even wear them to drive.

They still smell rubber boots sometimes. A few years ago I wore my rubber boots to the stand and a doe and her 2 fawns came right to the trail I came in on and the doe put her nose to my footsteps. She panicked immediately, left the fawns in the timber and went out into the field and followed my trail back toward the truck for a long ways, came back and retraced every single step I made. I veered off the trail to look at something on the way in and she followed that move I made too. I'm 20' high up 8n my stand watching all this go down. Once she got back to the fawns they followed her and they all bolted off across the field wide open as fast as a deer can run. She never snorted or anything, but boy did she bust me.

Now when the farmer makes 2 or more passes on the combine the deer will come out to feed in the freshly picked area while hes still picking. I've seen it.

Dead down Wind is water or Latex based, If you have walked thru, gas, Oil or petroleum based product you may as well spray water on your boots, it will never do any good.

Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!

I never wear my rubber boots anywhere except the woods but I always spray Coon or Fox piss on the bottom of them. Deer cross my trail and don’t even skip a beat.
