I know there was a thread about them around November last year , hut couldn't find it. I planted the Mississippi Blend around the first week of Oct. It took a while to get going but it's looking good now. Probably plant it sooner next year so it will have warmer weather to get started

I planted 3 plots of it here at my place.

It looked terrible the first month or so but now it looks as good as any I have ever had.

Rain and warm weather I guess.

I planted the Magnet. It went in a little late but looks okay now. With out the warm weather not sure it would have been very good.

I planted the Alabama Blend mid-October. It started raining as I got it in the ground. It sprang up quickly within a week and then just kinda stalled. It looks amazing now though. Very odd because we've had a bunch of rain since then. I don't think it really started growing good until we had a good cold snap mid-December

I’m wanting to try there summer pea blend I’m just not sure our Feilds are big enough to sustain the amount of deer that will hit them.

I planted one plot in magnet and one with the old 5 way co op blend. To be honest they have eaten them down equally. I don’t think I’ll go back with wms due to the high price. The deer don’t seem to prefer one over the other.

Our finally filled out and the deer are eating them pretty good. Still not that impressed with it though. I think a good mix would be just as good at half the cost.

I dont like the three way mixes. Isould rather buy a specialty brand like white tail institute.

It be's that way sometimes.

We use a Woods seeder with two seed hoppers. Did regular oats in the big hopper and a mix of crimson clover and various brassicas in the small hopper - basically emulated the WMS blends. Plots look great and it was way cheaper than buying the WMS stuff. We did do 10 bags of the WMS TriticOat to start off with before going to the regular Oats b/c we wanted to try out the cosaque oats. I can't really tell the difference and honestly at this point don't even for sure remember which fields have it in them.

I have always used Pennington Fall Blend, but this year used the WMS Alabama blend in a majority of plots.
My experience mirrors what others above report - started out slow and stayed a little skimpy until recently.
It is nice, thick and lush now - but I nuked the heck out of the plots with Ammonium Nitrate a few weeks ago over the holidays.

I am going back to Pennington next year.

I also like to use the Pennington Feeding Frenzy is some smaller select plots.

I always mix in some extra Crimson clover into every plot also.

I planted a ton of the Magnet and the Alabama blend. Both came up great and the deer have been keeping them mowed down. What is inside our grazing cages is almost a foot tall.

We planted the deer magnet. It come up good and looks good and the deer are eating just like they did the wheat oats and rye we planted before. The difference is whith the deer magnet our plots are full of clover it hasn't grown a lot this winter but it should take off this spring and provide a good food source through spring and early summer. I am going to keep a check on it and if it does I will plant it again.

I tried the WMS Mississippi mix this year, it’s ok. Had about the same results as most others here, slow start, came on the end of December.
The deer have kept it eaten down.
I’ve planted Pennington feeding frenzy for years with great results. I tried it to save a little money, suppler said twice the seed half the price, you get what you pay for IMHO.
I’ll use the Pennington next fall.
