I need to respool some bait casters. What type of line do you use for different baits.(ex. Braid for topwater). Also what brands do you like? I'm not a tournament fisherman just like to go when invited. Thanks

BRAID for frogs,swim jigs, flipping

mono for spinnerbaits,cranks,traps
floro for worm fishing

i like diawa braid or seagur .

p-line floro

not real picky on mono

Georgia Football..Acts like Bama but has a trophy case like South Carolina.

I’ve been fishing a lot of Berkley Big Game Coastal Brown Mono here lately in 8# and 12#. It works really well in stained water and it seems like with all the rain we’ve had lately the water stays muddy. Casts really well, especially for the price. Fairly tough and ties a mean knot.

Big Game is your best buy for your buck. It comes on a 1/4 lb spool and you can change it often without breaking the bank. I use green and clear. I used to use pink until they discontinued it. In clear water nothing beats pink line for disappearing. Big Game is very resistant to abrasion.

I bought a spool of 20- lb Big Game. It was a little wiry for me. I been fishing 15 lb Yozuri Hybrid. My spinning rods get 8 lb Trilene XL. Or braid and a top shot of Trilene.

I have tried a ton of all the latest and greatest lines but I just come back to my old school stren blue. For the braid I use sun line 50# black/blue. It costs about $28 for 150 yards but if you put backing on your reels you can spool up 4 reels. Also it does not fade like the power pro does.

Suffix 832 braid. I've experimented with all of them. It definitely holds us the best during tarpon season. Trilene big game is tough line and fairly inexpensive. It is a little bulky in my opinion, for a bait caster.

Stren blue will cost you fish at Guntersville in my experience. You want the line invisible.

Big Game does have a large diameter and a lot of memory. Thats why I usually changed mine once a month, but I was fishing a lot.

Stren clear 14 is my go to on bait casters. I Do like Flo carbon when fishing a fluke or other weightless rigs. Others mentioned are good too.

I used a lot of P-.line when I lived in Houston. Most Texas lakes are just flooded forests. P-line has very large diameter, is very abrasive resistant. It has the worse memory is the worse I've seen, is expensive compared to others. It's best point is it's moss color and 15# is stronger than 20# in other lines. Why wouldn't it be is as big or bigger in diameter.
