Do it yourself. A "good need to know" for the future. You might decide to wrap your own rod one day.

If you still have the eye, just wrap it back on yourself. If you watch the videos, they will make it seem like you gotta buy all the equipment they sell, but all you need for one eye is some thread and some type of epoxy to cover it when you finish. I've wrapped a couple of rods from kits without buying any other equipment. I only did it because nobody makes a rod that I like these days, but it's not that hard.

so I re-wrapped it and it doesn't look professionally done like the others but it turned out aesthetically better than I thought... I will be testing its durability this weekend out on the lake. You will get better at it the more you practice. Make sure your thread matches up in size or that can cause it to look a little off. Color coat preserver will keep the thread from fading. A bunch of small coats of rod varnish will give it a professional look. Make sure and give it time to almost dry between coats.
