Ugliest wreck I’ve ever seen. It will be a miracle if he survives.

Reports that he was awake after extraction from the car and en route to hospital, but no news since. That's via Twitter, reportedly from one of his crew, but still take grains of salt.

The twitter feeds are in crickets mode, thats bad. From watching the replay it seems unlikely anybody could survive that.

When they took so long getting the car turned back over I felt like that was an ominous sign that he was already gone. I pray that I’m wrong but that was a horrible accident. Prayers lifted for Ryan Newman and his family.

From his lips to God’s ears. I pray that is true 🙏🏽

This is what I just posted on FB. Prayers for him and his family.
The end of the Daytona 500 shows what is wrong with American Culture today. Denny Hamlin should have driven straight over to Ryan Newman and made sure his fellow driver was ok. All he did was show his ego. That's what everyone saw, that is the reason for the boos. He probably had no clue that Ryan had such a bad wreck, but someone on his team should have notified him of that. Victory lane should be vacant until Ryan was found to be in good health. At what point did we lose compassion for others? Just my 2 cents.

It’s all about “likes” on social media for stupid a$$ chit. Sad. As for Hamlin, he saw the wreck, those drivers watch their rear as much as front.

I just saw a video of behind the black screens. They were doing CPR on him as the carrier him to the ambulance. So, I don’t see how he was awake. 😯

IMO, Ryan Blakey showed true concern when he was interviewed, others were high fiveing knowing they were trying to get Ryan out of the car. I am down to watching the start and finish of these races, I think I am done.

I remember Waltrip celebrating in victory lane the day Earnhardt was killed, he didn't know the severity of the crash.

Denny Hamlin and Joe Gibbs racing issued an apology. No one had a way of knowing the severity of it at the time he did the burn outs. Everybody is being overly sensitive about it.

There's no way Hamlin knew what went down behind him and still went on to celebrate. Heck he was racing Blaney right down to the checkers. He's never come across as the egotistical type and based off of his comments post race I don't see that any differently
