“If the State converts a right (liberty) into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right (liberty) with impunity.” (Shuttlesworth v. City of Birmingham, Alabama, 373 U.S. 262) I'll go a step further. Not only do I oppose the bill, but I also oppose concealed carry permits in general. It's a tax on a right granted to me by God and the Constitution of the United States. Constitution..hum, I understand but where does God come in to the rights? Do you not believe that God gives us the right, from birth to death, to defend ourselves by whatever means necessary? A firearm is a tool to aid in self defense and is protected by the 2nd Amendment.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Constitution..hum, I understand but where does God come in to the rights? We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness Most Americans hold a seventh grade civics notion that the Constitution gives us certain rights. In fact, the Bill of Rights merely sets limits on the federal government, making clear it has no power to infringe on rights we already naturally possess, or limit traditionally held privileges, such as trial by jury. Except for a few procedural rights specifically for the trial process, the Bill of Rights does not actually bestow rights. I'm always amazed at the willingness of people to give their rights away or to have their rights taxed by the state. It pains my soul to have to purchase a hunting/fishing license or pay property taxes.
