Last year, I bought this machine and it ran fine. It’s been so parked since December. I got it out yesterday. It started fine and idled for a few
seconds then died. It would then re-start, but ran rough, sputtering and backfiring, and would not idle. It is also showing a check engine light. Do you guys know how to read a code from a Grizzly? Any ideas on where I start troubleshooting? TIA.

First thing i would do is completely drain gas an put fresh gas in. Make sure turn gas on reserve when draining to get it all out of tank.. Try drain carb if possible. If don t start running better in bit have clean Carb jets . Only been sitting since December maybe new gas fix it. I have 14 grizzly 450 an carb is fairly easy to take off an clean.

Run non ethanol gas

Can’t clean the carb. It’s a 550 and has fuel injection.

Put new gas ⛽ in it with sea foam.

Make sure the battery is good , efi bikes can be picky about a good battery. Those Yamahas are great bikes, I would imagine it's something small

Didn’t t know the 13 550 was fuel injected my 14 450 is not. Wish it was. Like someone said check battery . Most fuel injected bikes have a electric fuel pump an if its not getting enough juice to put the right amount fuel pressure to the throttle body it won t run right. If you can check while running. Should put out little over 14 volts. New plug might help if been sitting for awhile. This is all after you try new gas

I’m not a Yamaha expert, but thought I read that the 550’s and larger were injected in 2013. There’s an emblem on it that says “Fuel Injected’.

Yea but not really fuel injected. Throttle body injected. Lot better on cold starts an riding at different altitudes an better on fuel but more complicated to work on if been sitting with old gas

Try a new spark plug. That was the issue with mine.

Not sure which bike you have, but make sure it is in 2 wheel drive if it is a 4x4 with locking differentials.
