Let me through a troublesome story out for y’all
Corona kills Everyone, we all know that and if you’re in the high risk then it’s a horrible agonizing certain death.
One of my guys had to use 2 weeks vacation 3 weeks ago because his sister who usually cares for his extremely ill father needed surgery. His father has had two serious strokes in the last 5 months and is now bed ridden. He also suffers from emphysema and congestive heart failure.
Said employee got sick last Thursday before he should have returned to work Monday with 101 fever and cough, his wife insist that he get tested so he was tested Friday. By Saturday he was better, no fever, no aches just an occasional dry cough. Sunday Monday feels normal but has been advised to self quarantine until test comes back and his wife again insist along with my wife not wanting him to come back for a few days. Today he finds out the test was positive and he ain’t dead, what the hell!
His high risk father hasn’t died yet either, not even any symptoms and he has a respiratory disease, what the hell!!! His wife hasn’t died, what the hell!!!!!
Convinces me even more that it’s chicken little bullshat. He said himself he’s had worse bouts with allergies and summer colds, nothing like the ass whooping the flu puts on you. He’s being required to stay home by JCDH indefinitely with no lingering symptoms, no one else showing symptoms and his high risk patient that won’t follow the script and die like a good sheeple, what the hell!!!!
I give up.

Takes 3 to 7 days for symptoms to present , so according to timeline presented, remains to be seen what and if anything happens to father.

WSFA in Montgomery reported last night we had 196 positives in the State. Health Dept. guy said 7-8% of positives have been hospitalized. That’s about 16 people in a state of five million people! People are facing financial ruin over this. I give it about another week and people are going to be over this thing and get back to normal. and we should hope and pray we stay that lucky. others haven't been Kirkland Washington Nursing Home

I wonder if there is something different among different populations that make some (like Italy and China) more susceptible to severe complications?
Just thinking out loud people point out the average age of Italy, but they are behind Japan in that stat Japan has had only 1,128 cases and 42 deaths and Is oldest average age on planet, also has 126,000,000 people on top of each other

Must be a lot of results not back yet; Church of The Highlands, alone, tested 2200 last week before shutting down Saturday.

I wonder if seeing different totals is because some may just be showing the tests from the CDC and not from the private labs doing them, also.

Al.com today reported 45 cases being treated at UAB; 16 on ventilators Does that sound right; Booger? Yes it does. 16 covid patients on ventilators in a 25 bed unit. Of course we have surgical icu, cardiac critical care, trauma/burns icu, heart/lung transplant icu. But what do we do with the patients already in those units for those reasons. You can see how things can get overwhelmed. And quick. You start mixing covid cases and traditional icu patients and you have a bad mix.

I wonder if seeing different totals is because some may just be showing the tests from the CDC and not from the private labs doing them, also. I believe I heard reported they are all mandated to report to CDC. Booger may know the correct answer. Interesting disparity ; though. There were a number of other places testing in Metro Birmingham last week. I also understand they are not wasting tests obviously sick people
