you should have fired him for laying out of work with a fake virus, why isn't he back at work yet?

Just to be clear, a genetically altered virus is no longer a virus. It's a biological agent, and thus not a real virus. It is, by definition, a bio weapon.

If you are correct, then why wouldn't it be even more important to minimize the risk of the spreading of it?

The same reason he doesn’t wear a seatbelt or wash his hands

It very well may be important. I'm not too stubborn to change my mind about things.
Given the totally irrational pandemonium, it's really the only explanation that makes sense.

Nurse Practitioner working with me today has a daughter that’s an ICU nurse out west. They currently have 9 patients positive CV19. She told him today that she had a guy in ICU stable, no issues, just being observed, he is Positive for CV19, she was off last 3 days, comes back this morning and this perfectly healthy 51yr old with no medical issues, non-smoker is on vent with bilateral pneumonia and probably going to die. 3 days from healthy, walking around his ICU room to vent and dying.

From a provider standpoint it’s mentally exhausting, trying to differentiate CV19 from Flu from chronic allergies. We are phone triaging pts and swabbing then in their cars. Others are ignoring the 14d quarantine, I had 2 come in clinic today that are supposed to be on quarantine awaiting test results. One didn’t tell me til I was discharging him and asked him if he needed a work note (today’s visit was an injury) he then told me no that he was already on 14d quarantine awaiting test results from Monday. That’s the problem with this virus is dumb@ss ppl think they can do whatever the hell that want and expose a whole unprotected clinic to this. So now if he comes back positive then I’m sidelined for 2 weeks, our clinics go down a provider and if many more get sidelined the we have to close clinics which will further burden the ER’s with the ppl we would have been seeing.

I heard today that of all the people who have died in Italy due to this disease only in 12% of those people was the virus the actual cause of death.

they wouldnt have had those complications without contracting the virus thats like saying if you get shot and die the bullet didnt cause your death the loss of blood did whats the difference?

They all had at least one morbidity disease and most had 2 or 3. Yes the virus finished them but the point was the Italy numbers are so bad because of the age, health and the 27% of the country that smokes has skewed the mortality rate way higher than any other country. You can throw their data out the window because it's useless based on those underlying factors.

average populations of every country contain people with pre existing conditions. so we throw out all the data that we deem useless because too many people already had health problems? they werent dying before they got the virus. If someone has asthma and dies from it do we just say well that one doesnt count so we can keep the numbers down and feel better about it on paper?

The only thing that's remained constant in in this from the beginning is those that are elderly and immune compromised are at greater risk. Italy has that combination more than any other civilized country due to their population of elderly, socialized medicine and lifestyle. We were never going to be Italy in regards to infection rate nor mortality rate.
