Just had my 13yr old tested. 3-4 days on results. Said they highly suspect he will be positive. I’m assuming that is due to the number they
Are seeing come back positive.

Oh no! Another stupid statement by someone about the apocalypse.

My aunt’s nephew told me, they are going to start using the marine snipers to shoot anyone who leaves their house.

Heck with concealed carry! I’m gonna wear a 6 shooter on each hip so the rioters and looters won’t mess with me. You want my toilet paper come and get it baw!

There's currently 90 confirmed cases in Jefferson Co. and 215 in the state of Alabama. I seriously doubt that there are 60 confirmed cases at UAB and > 30 on vents. This would be disproportionate to other parts of the country in terms of percentage of pts requiring hospitalizations and those requiring ICU/vents.

Could the demographic of patients change potentially change the percentage when comparing to other parts of the country?

There is a tweet from UAB stating the facts wew3006 listed off. It's true.

But there is a woman on Facebook who is claiming that her daughter is a doctor at UAB and her daughter told her that 50% of the people that catch this have to go on a respirator. Someone I know then shared this bit of info. When I said that I bet her daughter meant that 50% of those serious enough to be admitted to the hospital need to be ventilated I was accused of not taking it serious. No, I just don't believe in causing undue panic that others seem to be thriving on.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

This is posted this afternoon on Al.com; a little different but still a very serious situation; total state count now 386 confirmed cases; up from 242 yesterday:

"According to information from Dr. Michael Saag, while speaking to a Rotary Club meeting Wednesday morning, 56 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized at the University at Alabama Birmingham alone. Of those, he said 26 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit."

Why was there a rotary club meeting when we're supposed to be distancing
