Thank you for posting the link. I would absolutely go get the finger stick for the blood test to see if I have already been exposed and are just asymptomatic. I feel like if I found out that I already had antibodies then I would not worry about being exposed to it like I have been. I am still curious as to how long one is can still be contagious, though. I feel like we do not know enough yet. Like can some people just be carriers and contagious all the time?

They tested cops and firemen today in Mobile. 30 tested positive for antibodies but only one had any symptoms. Where are they getting an antibody test? I did not think they were available yet? Or was it just the nasal swab test that came back positive but most of them were asymptomatic? Not sure. They just said they had to be tested agan with a different test to see if it was an active case because the antibody meant they either had it before or have it now.

86% don't have symptoms. So yeah, you probably have it and have exposed others.
I thought this also until I realized that certain hospitals in the hot spots r having trouble with upkeep...your a smart guy think about it https://www.businessinsider.com/early-coronavirus-spread-china-people-little-or-no-symptoms-2020-3If you don't believe this, I understand. But look at the cases from the diamond princess. All people on board were tested and 50% of those positive had zero symptoms. That was a weird population though, cause the average age was nearly 60 years old, whereas the average population of the US is 38 years old. Look, I actually don't know what the percentage of asymptomatic is, but it's high and it's a really important population. "Herd" immunity is needed for any seasonal outbreak, but we closed down schools and limited any congregation. Schools are our biggest source of herd immunity. This isn't complicated stuff. Anyone who has a child realizes that kids in school pass around infectious disease like wildfire and because of that, the population is protected from those diseases. I get it, we can't have kiddos bringing home something that looks like it might kill grandma Betty, but at the same time the global population is significantly harmed by not having those kids congregated with their running noses and dirty locker handles.

Also, while UAB has 60 or so cases, the other big regional hospitals are basically empty from what I'm hearing.

I think right now the idea is that if you feel sick and are running a fever that you should stay home and self-quarantine and not be at the job site anyway. To continue to go while having symptoms would definitely put those around you at risk and if you didn't make it known that you had it after being tested, then everyone else potentially has it and if asymptomatic does not know to stay home and self-quarantine so it just becomes a never ending transmission.
Personally, I would be pretty mad at someone who knew they were positive and was out and about and exposed me to it and I got sick.

Why would you not? I'd be a ticked off son of a gun if you were around me, had it, and did not warn me. Beyond irresponsible.

I've seen people come to work with full blown flu and try to pretend like everything ok, meanwhile they are making the entire place sick. Drives me damn crazy.

I can’t find any info about numbers from UAB. Last update I saw was March 31st and said they were currently treating 52 patients. Nothing reported after that that I am aware of. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/NjtjnNSs/UAB.png)
