According to the numbers DG is making more than Walmart and Amazon per customer right now.

Amazon got blitzed virtually overnight on "I need my package shipped NOW!" and they couldn't do it, thus the prioritization and attempt to hire new workers for distribution. But they couldn't keep up and still can't, and never will. There's too many of us wanting our Prime schitt on the porch NOW no matter if it's a bathmat or kimchi or "essential" stuff. Our nation of immediacy and Amazon's promises to deliver couldn't mesh.
Also, no one at Amazon smiles and says, "Hey baby, how you doin' today?" when I check out.
They got so blitzed they are having to suspend their own delivery system to keep up. Amazon

Doesn't DG use satellite imagery to count rooftops to determine where to locate Dollar General stores? Yes, and/or drones. I'm good friends with an engineer that works for one of the companies that buys and leases them the buildings. DG leases all their stores.

DG is cool. They have good specials on beer. My only beef with them was a year or two ago when their card readers asked you to push 1 for English. I raised hell with their corporate office and damn if their readers changed and quit asking for English. Guess nuff folks raised hell.

Yep, amazon is "prioritizing" orders of "essential" items.....that means even if you have PAID FOR EXPEDITED SHIPPING (prime membership), they're not honoring it. Hell, this should be their time to shine, even more so than normal, since folks can't/don't want to go out in public. Instead, they're shooting themselves in the foot.
Yup, I've been hitting ebay MUCH harder than usual because of that shipping delay crap. My truck parts are "esential" to me.

Seems like about 50% of my trips to DG end up with me thinking how there are some real crazy people in my town. They must offer coupons on some ingredient that is used for cooking meth. I can't go into my local store without smelling weed at least once. It's become something of a game to me and my older kids. That said, thank goodness we have the store. Until, Amazon/Wally World drone delivers in rural towns they can't do what DG does.
