IMHO, you don't need high dollar hunting clothing for Alabama. I usually just wear good long johns and a shirt/pants. Sometimes a vest or light jacket. Good headwear is most important. I've had a Browning hydro parka for many years but haven't worn it in at least 6 years. I can stay warm enough with lighter clothing and less bulk.

Thing I don't like about Sitka other than price is some of their designs are dumb, IMO.

Looks good if you are into a fashion show. It is made better than Kuiu. I have some of both.
I don't really understand why anyone would need either setup to hunt in Alabama. Everyone says less weight and bulk? Really? Are you hiking 20 miles both ways to your shooting house? When you get there you like freedom of movement so you can do a Jazzercise class on your Iphone mid-morning? Less bulk help your fat butt climb a tree?... maybe on to something there. Do you want to look like a sponsored TV host with a bunch of fluffy cool kid gear..... as you selfie film yourself blasting a doe? All good reasons to get some Sitka.
Lightweight hiking clothes are not necessarily durable. "They" claim they are but the are not. Kuiu is not very durable at all. Sitka is a little more substantial and in my opinion better made. I want some weight because with weight comes durability.
Reality says 1/2 the time I hunt in Carhartts or Bird hunting clothes.
Here is the verdict - Get some if you want it. There is no shame in having high quality clothes that give comfort. I hunt all the time in clothes I bought 20+ years ago. I bought the good stuff. It has proven to be a good investment.

Yes, it's good clothing. Yes, it works.
It's pricey. You get what you pay for. If you wear cheap cotton socks you'll have sweaty, stinky cold feet. If you buy a cheap-ass jacket, it will leak and not insulate and you'll be cold. Do you need a $400 Sitka fleece jacket or coat? That's up to you. But it's warm and the stuff works.
It has an athletic cut so if you're a fatass, big boy, hefty, "need to lose a few" or "big boned" or otherwise wear 2X and 3X stuff you might not like it. I have a 2X hooded layering shirt and it's tight. But I wear it under other stuff so I don't care. It's all warm, the outerwear is darn good and warm, and if I'm hunting anything between Thanksgiving and February 15 I probably will have the fleece neck gaiter on or with me. That neck gaiter is about $30 and is worth every penny.

A good neck gaiter is worth every penny. Combined with a good hat it's the most important thing you can have to keep warm.

I totally feel the opposite and I have a lot of the big 3s gear. I wear kuiu year round (weekly) and it's held up every bit as good as Sitkas stuff. I bike and hike several miles per week and trap a lot in my Teton pants. The Kuiu 2 way stretch pants will outlast the Kuiu, Sitka, and First Lite 4 way stretch gear all day long. I just got a new First Lite piece that's gonna be great in September.

I've got some Sitka, First Lite and Plythal. Plythal, in my opinion, is the best value and is great quality. Check Camofire and you can get some great deals. Their goose down jacket and Primaheat bibs are extremely lightweight and I wore it with just a merino wool base layer on days the temp never got above 27 degrees here on the Tennessee/Kentucky line and never got a chill.

I am looking for a High Fence hunter to sell my Kuiu stuff to. Y'all let me know if you know any topwaters that might want it I will lay it on them cheap. I would love to get some of my money back.
All mine is that Privet Hedge Camo. Not the gravel pile Camo.

If you buy Sitka or Kuiu make sure to order one size larger than you normally wear.
IE; if you typically wear Large, but XL.

Medium and Large Guide jacket/pants also Attack pants I think a 240 zip and 200 bottoms probably a Medium on those. A Rubicon jacket probably a Large. I have the outer layer Chugach Rain jacket and pants I'm going to keep them. Not because I think they are awesome I just don't want to take a bath on selling them and I would have to replace they were overpriced for sure and no better than a yuppie Northface ski jacket in any way. I've probably got some other pieces. Who's not fat?

I’m not! Yet. Would love to own some more of that stuff.
