Some of those WMA restrictions are ridiculous. The deer can't find the property line and some of them do nothing for the safety of other hunters. For example:. On public land I can take my M&P shield 9mm as a backup or protection against dogs/coyotes/whatever. But the barrel is too short for WMA. I would carry my Ruger Blackhawk 357mag. Why is it that way? The Ruger is more deadly to another hunter. The Smith might be too small for deer.... But it's legal on private land. Makes no sense.
