And people wonder why officers get burned out. Do your job and people beotch. Don't do your job and they beotch. If you arrest someone, they're pissed at you. If you aren't able to make an arrest people are pissed at you. Most people couldn't last 10 minutes as a police officer.

BTW, Live PD is not real police work no matter what they tell you.

I get it. The man went out his way to be a dick. Chances are it was in his demeanor and attitude. Once he found out the guy was the owner, it's none of his business what he was doing there, period. Where you messed up is you turned around to meet the cops and invited the man into your life...... And for all the cops saying he done his job, BS. You can be a cop and not be a dickhead, really common courtesy is not that hard. Now move along citizen......

And some has learned how to be a dickhead, but they are a respectful dickhead. I still want to know what part of the encounter did the officer over step? We got the dickhead part figured out.

Common courtesy only goes one way? About 1 outa 5 people LEOs encounter are respectful. Not saying BGH wasn’t. It goes both ways. Hell I’ve dealt with many LEOs that are assholes. I even have to work with some every now and then. Shoot man I even had to be one a time or 2. I don’t like it but with me, I treat you the way you treat me. Also how was the officer to know he was the owner? Because he told him he was? As a citizen if the encounter would have ended when BGH just told him he was the owner and the officer drove off without following up by actually identifying him as the actual owner, you don’t hold yalls police officers to to high of a standard.

If you had been a criminal and he acted that way, you would have been glad. He had no way to know.

Alarms (on cars or buildings, or anything else) are just annoying. They serve no purpose other than being annoying.
Cops will never get there in time to stop a burglary. They're always minutes away when seconds count.

He was right to check you out and ask for ID. His approach is unprofessional and uncalled for. Especially asking what business you had being there on a Sunday.

For those have been a LEO, they will understand.Trust but verify always, always. If you don't bad guys get away with stuff. Some guys do this with questions that one might take offense to, some do it other ways. All good officer's do it . I don't want to ride and get in no crap with one that doesn't.

There are two sides to every story. I would bet the Officer that made contact with you would have a different story! Maybe he thought that you came off as an asshole. In that situation ( alarm), he has every right to ask for identification and run your tag on your vehicle to verify who you are and why you are there. If you feel that you were treated disrespectfully, go down to the P.D. and file a complaint instead of I am going to call the Chief because I know him.
