Looking for somewhere to test well water. I see Auburn does it but looking at the list it doesnt show them checking for bacteria with their test. Suggestions?

What kind of test do you want done? Water test range in price from a few bucks for a fecal coliform into the thousands for chemical analysis. There is no standard, one size fits all water test. What you want done will also have bearing on where you have it sent.

The rule of thumb for water is that the parts per million stuff makes you sick, the parts per billion and trillion stuff kills you.

Not exactly sure . I bought a piece of property with a abandoned well that hasnt been used in probably 25 years and none of the original family remember why the old folks quit using the well. They dont remember it tasting bad

I had assumed that most tests would check for the most common problem items in water. I thought bacteria would be on the list to check but i didint even see that test option listed on the couple sites i checked.

A bacteria test has very little hold time and you will likely need to find a testing lab somewhere near Birmingham for that.
I would try calling Birmingham water works to see what lab they use to do there testing.
For other parameters they have a longer hold time so you can ship those out.

Guardian Systems in Leeds. Like mentioned though, water testing is wide. When I send them samples to be tested, I have to specify what I am looking for.
