Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox says the city has received a few reports of people violating the state health order when it comes to social distancing at restaurants and bars.
Maddox tells us the majority of businesses are complying with the health orders. The city has put together a task force made up of Tuscaloosa police officers and folks from the fire marshal’s office. They’ll be going around town making sure businesses are following the rules. They don’t want to start issuing fines, but Maddox says if the problem persists then they’ll have no choice.
"We will be issuing warning letters, but if the problem persists, we’re going to take action. The health of our community, keeping our healthcare system strong is paramount. We’ve worked too hard to have done this well to be wasted at this moment because of reckless behavior,” Maddox said

Washington's governor, Inslee, has said if residents there don't register and use the "tracing app" or whatever tracking system they have, they will be confined to their homes by order of the government.
Think about that for a minute. If you do not submit to mandatory tracking in public we will confine you to your home under threat of penalty.
He also is demanding that law enforcement help enforce the mandates throughout the state, no matter what city-county officials say or want.

Might want to review the 4th amendment, as well as brush up on how laws are written.

As for begging for termination and the 4th Amendment, the voters in Washington put Inslee in the governor's chair. They knew what they were getting.

The reports they are receiving are probably from businesses that are actually trying to protect themselves from lawsuits, from their employees and customers, should someone get sick and track it back to the business. I run a business and have to limit the # of customers in my showroom to a certain amount at one time. Am I happy about it? Not really but, it's not that hard. We also have to clean more often which we probably needed to do anyway. And we have had to rearrange some things to ensure social distancing. I typed all that to say this, if I'm going to take the steps and incur the expense to ensure my staff and customers are safe, my competitors as well as any other public serving business around me needs to do the same. I dont have the time, energy, or desire to go around and ensure that they are doing it. Nor do I have the time energy or desire to turn anyone in. But, if there is a task force to relieve me of that burden? I'm not going to get in their way.

He's begging for termination. Step one is to take it to court and hopefully that will rectify the situation. I don’t see the Supreme Court allowing this type of thing. I mean what if you don’t have a phone? Are you automatically put on house arrest? If local law enforcement agencies actually push their officers to enforce this then I would hope there would be a large swath of officers resigning in opposition. I certainly wouldn’t want to be the guy knocking on someone’s door telling them that they are under house arrest because they didn’t sign on to an infringement of their constitutional rights.

If that means electric fences 6 feet apart with snakes overhead and your staff in a Travolta-style bubble helmet, so be it. That's your decision. And I agree with doing whatever is best for you and yours. If another business wants to not do any cleaning, social distancing guidelines or anything else, phuck them. That's on them. That might mean more business for you.

This is a bunchofbullshit! Folks have been locked down for a month and a half by government officials because of fear and not real science. Then they decide to go out and enjoy themselves and have the social distancing government police looking over their shoulder. Meanwhile crime as usual is going on in the cities and counties of our state.

On Hwy 280, folks sure as hell are not staying 6' apart or hardly wearing any masks. Some of the fools are wearing their mask below their nose and in some cases below their mouth. HD & Lowe's are not cleaning the self check outs or card readers after each customer.
Publix on the other hand have taken this to a new level. Wiping down every buggie and basket as they are returned. All employees wearing masks and wiping down the card reader after every customer.

I'm sticking with the proven method that's served my family well for 300 years. We live our life outside. Eat wild game, raw vegetables, drink whiskey, and get dirty. We don't worry about illness or clean hands, or greasy foods. We usually live well into our 90s, some of us made to 100. When our number is called we'll go with dignity.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.
