Congressional hearings on baseball events,
Food Stamps
and
What was the other one?
How's that?
not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

My whole point in this thread has been the Federal government is not efficient in most of what they attempt to do.
You have agreed and said "No one has taken the position that the government is being run well in all areas. Probably not even in most areas."
I've made my point. What exactly is your point?

The weather is nice today. I'm not suprised BamaProud doesn't have much to do today. When a storm is coming. I'm glad he's there.
Same with firemen. Should we not have firemen because they only have to go to a fire occasionally? They are paid to be ready and to be there when we need them. Thanks jlccoffee, I was actually at home when I posted that...but Yes I do post from work on a regular basis(I'm at work now). I have never hidden the fact that I do. Certain jobs have more down time than others, when the Crap hits the fan is when I earn my pay...but the wather (and equipment) does require a 24/7/365 watch.

I think Dallas Counties buddy may have been exaggerating things a little.
And who in their right mind would believe anything a Federal government employee who spends hours a day on the taxpayers payroll surfing a deer hunting site? You are the perfect example of government waste and it pisses me off that my tax dollars go to one that spends a sizable amount of the day on a non-business related internet site at the taxpayers expense. Did you tell your buddy how you view his as the result of his new job that you helped him obtain? All of the benefits your buddy claimed have already been dis-proven with links to the pertinent information. I don't care if you "believe" the facts or not. As for my job, I have had dozens of people thank me for what I do, many, even some on this site have told me I might have kept them or their family out of danger(or worse). I agree that the gubberment is bloated and inefficient in many areas, but your black and white blanket description of all government workers is very shortsighted.

Patent office and attorneys that represents Patents get paid well. So for them to find someone that was willing to move to DC and get into that office isn't someone they will find in the standard former government or military workers.
Takes some knowledge and understanding of the patent system to be able to understand it.
Life has its ups and downs, just make the most of the ups and learn from the downs.
