The year was 1968 it was my first day in Vietnam. About 50 of use got in a C123 for a short trip up the beach to our new home.
We landed on a air strip made from metal airfield matting. They said it was a good landing. I still think we crashed.
That's a pretty good description! 😳 My first tactical landing, I actually thought we'd been shot down!
