I would recommend at least minimal footwear. Yeah cause hot brass landing on that tender top of the foot burns like the dickens. They don't make AR's, M-4's or M-16's for left handed shooters. So be sure to wear a collared shirt and button all the way up. Not many things are more exciting than several spent casings down inside your shirt. I promise. I'm a lefty....I've been fortunate and haven't taken one in the face or down my shirt yet. Of course, that probably means I just haven't shot it enough
