Another plus for Polaris:

Polaris ranger every time. If someone is downing Polaris it’s because they owned one 20 years ago. Got three of them right here on this farm. Two Rangers and a Razr. The Rangers are great workhorse machines. Just don't cruise around with them in high gear, you'll wear out the belt. The Razr is sitting in my shop right now. Been there for two years because it's a piece of garbage not worth fixing.

I saw a UTV in the Northport Lowes today. It was an Axis brand, 500 CC, with camo, top, doors, windshield, 3500# winch, and manual dump bed. MSRP on it was $7999.00. I had to take a second look at it. It was a sharp machine. Don't know if they are any good or not but it sure looked good. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Axis-Axis-500CC-4x4-UTV-Camo/1002752476

It's a good machine but a little underpowered. They make a 700cc that would probably be a serious workhorse.

Not sure what your main purpose would be but I did study a bit on the mahindra before I bought a UTV. I almost bought it. They’re built a lot more heavy duty than most of them. Not as fast but built heavy. I ended up going with the ranger. You said aside from that but what tipped the scale for me was I know a lot of people with rangers and see tons of them during hunting season. For me it was the feedback from people I know plus seeing so many that people were using that led me to believe that they’d be good for what I’m doing. So far so good. This. I didn't want to spend a fortune so I also compared the specs on the Ranger 500 to several makes under 10 K (Honda Pioneer 500, Kawasaki Mule, Tracker, Textron, etc.) and for me it was hands down the winner. I like Honda and Yamaha pretty well but the Honda didn't have a dump bed and Yamaha didn't have anything in that price range. I compared suspension, HP, dump bed vs a rack, comfort, reviews, available accessories, fuel capacity, and a whole lot of other things on their specs pages. I bought a new 2019 Ranger 500 between Christmas and New year this last year and got it out the door for under 8 K. Most of that was due to year end clearance and not so much my negotiating skills, but I did get a little off on the deal. I started off looking at the Tracker 400 at Cabela's. Once I really started digging, it was off the table.

It will be used for hunting and work days at the club, but it will probably sit under the shed at the club more than it gets used.

If nothing else it's good to ride out to the garden or down to the mailbox. It's got all the power and traction I need. I dragged a fresh cut 10" diameter Bradford Pear out of the yard with it a little while back.
