This thread shows why the numbers cant be right in the US. Because simple math ain't simple? Or ... ? ALDEER: Where everyone is an infectious disease specialist, but 0.50% struggle with simple math. 1/200 with poor math skills aint bad

Where did you acquire the home test........ My company had it sent to the house, then I had to video call with a doctor who walked me through self-administering the test (Which SUCKS even worse than someone else doing it!!!). After that, package it up and send it back to the lab.

.83 as a percent equals 83% Ok
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

.83 of 1 percent of the whole is .0083.
.83 is 83 percent of the whole I don’t think anyone ever said 0.83. The article said 0.83%, which is 100% correct.

Did anyone click on the link and read the title? I'm guessing that would help solve your math equation I did soil Yoda / Tarcker Man. Article says 30,000 tested and 249 tested positive for a percentage of .83% (note decimal and % sign) . I don't know what the "whole" is but I know 249 of 30,000 ain't 83% or .83 , that would be 24,900.
