It isn't clear to me that the parking lot/car dealership shooter is the same one who was running down the street being chased by a gang of thugs who shot in self defense.
Edit: I just read that the police did an illegal arrest of a 17 year old who was the one running down the street
being attacked by the gang of thugs. Not illegal. At 17, it is illegal for him to be carrying a long gun. He had no legal right to show up armed. So there goes any self defense argument. You are totally and completely FULL OF SHCIATT. Regardless of the issue of his age and the AR he has full self defense rights.

Bet he gets a free class to Gunsite. Yep. For a 17 yr old kid, he handled himself and the gun really well. Other than not shooting the "paramedic" that pulled the pistol on him, center of mass, he did as well as any adult could be expected to do especially given the stress and adrenaline of the overall situation. And I'm not sure he wont get off on the car dealership shooting. If I was on his jury, based on Skullworks photo, I would consider someone throwing a molotov cocktail at him to be an assualt with a deadly weapon in which case reciprocating with deadly force would be an appropriate response.
