there was a study done after hugo went through SC , ( i believe thats right ) .
On the Mt Holly Plantation in SC, which was devastated by Hugo, following years' harvest data indicated a "missing" age-class of deer. The year after Hugo, virtually no yearlings were killed. The second year after Hugo, virtually no 2 1/2s were killed. This pattern of a missing age-class could still easily be seen for 5 to 6 years later. Apparently, Hugo wiped out that year's fawn crop.
