Very interesting thread for sure.

Don't confuse my user name with any sort of alphabet faggotry.

It only stands for drag racing, and Route 66 was my home track back in the day.

We had an F5 come through Ringgold, GA last April. It virtually cleared an entire valley that I have land to hunt on, but the turkeys and deer are still there. The tornado passed through before dark and that might have been the saving grace for the turkeys. I've killed two birds off this road this year and see them all up down the valley.

On the Mt Holly Plantation in SC, which was devastated by Hugo, following years' harvest data indicated a "missing" age-class of deer. The year after Hugo, virtually no yearlings were killed. The second year after Hugo, virtually no 2 1/2s were killed. This pattern of a missing age-class could still easily be seen for 5 to 6 years later. Apparently, Hugo wiped out that year's fawn crop.

The original question specifically stated tornadoes, and used the comment "void in the wildlife populations for a while". The answer is obviously no, unless you only care about small acreages relative to deer and turkey management.

Hurricanes are a totally different deal. Hurricane Ivan changed some nice turkey property in South AL for a while, I know that to be certain. Hurricanes are in a different category in regards to the question because they are simply more widespread.
